Capital Farm Credit (CFC) is proud to provide FIELD Fund Grants for projects, programs and organizations in rural Texas whose work aligns with our goal of Fostering Investment in Education & Local Development (FIELD) in rural communities across Texas. These grants are aimed at supporting:
- A healthy rural Texas
- Agriculture advocacy, development & natural resources
- Agriculture & youth education
- Rural development & community enrichment
There are four grant categories. Please read each description and choose which works best for your request.
Please note: Event support, sponsorship or general donation requests that do not fit the categories below are not part of the FIELD Fund grant program. For those requests, please contact your local CFC office refer to our website here.
GRANT CATEGORIES
FARMERS MARKETS: Our Farmers Markets Grants program provides essential resources to help local markets thrive. From expanding vendor outreach to improving market infrastructure, our grants aim to enhance the farmers’ market experience for everyone involved.
- Grant amount is $1,000 per recipient.
- Applicants must submit a completed application and provide proof of 501(c)(3) status or a W-9 form.
YOUTH SERVICE PROJECTS: This category is designed to support Texas FFA chapters, 4-H clubs and other youth groups in their missions to improve local communities.
- Grants range from $500 - $1,000, based on the project’s proposed budget.
- Proof of 501(c)(3) status or a W-9 form must be submitted with application.
RURAL SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT: The Rural Support and Development Grant underscores our commitment to strengthen and grow Texas communities.
- Grants range from $1,000 to $15,000 based on project scope.
- Requirements: Applicants must submit a completed application and provide proof of 501(c)(3) status, a W-9 form or tax equivalent.
- Larger dollar requests may be considered with submitted budget.
AGRICULTURE EDUCATION: Funding for hands-on learning, leadership projects and ag innovations that impact the future of agriculture. This grant does not cover the costs of tuition or conference registration, sponsorships or travel expenses.
- Grants range from $1,000 - $10,000, based on the project’s proposed budget.
- Requirements: Applicants must submit a completed application and provide proof of 501(c)(3) status, a W-9 form or tax equivalent.
- Larger dollar requests may be considered with submitted budget.
Applications for all grants are open year-round, with grants decided on a quarterly basis.
Funding will not be provided for:
- The purchase of animals for livestock shows or rodeos
- Conference registrations
- Travel expenses
- Projects or programs that are in conflict with CFC’s mission and values
- Projects or programs that benefit only one individual or applicant seeking the funds
- Projects that do not support or benefit agriculture and/or rural communities
- Event sponsorships
- Applications outside of CFC’s chartered territories
Additional criteria for all grant categories:
- Applicants may only apply to one grant program per year.
- Grant requests may be partially funded.
- Applicants and proposed projects must take place in CFC’s geographic footprint.
- Proposed projects should align with CFC’s mission and areas of focus.
Previous funding does not guarantee continuing support to any organization.
- If an organization already received a grant in the calendar year, the new application must be for a different time frame, program or project.
- Funding is limited and provided on a case-by-case basis. Some organizations meeting the criteria may not receive support in a given year.
- CFC will not provide critiquing of proposals submitted.
Funding decisions are made periodically throughout the year, so applicants may not be notified for several months following their application submission.
CFC reserves the right to approve or deny any request for grant funding.
