The Sally Lawson Memorial Scholarship for Cooperative Excellence honors the legacy of Sally Lawson by investing in the next generation of leaders who strengthen agriculture and rural communities through cooperative business.
This scholarship is named in honor of the late Sally Lawson, who served as Chief Financial Officer of Capital Farm Credit before her untimely passing in April of 2026. She was a well-respected professional known for her exceptional intelligence, unwavering kindness and a deep, lifelong commitment to serving the Farm Credit members. She believed wholeheartedly in the cooperative model and embodied its principles every day through her leadership, her decisions and her care for others.
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA - Must meet all
- Enrolled (or accepted) in an accredited Texas college or university.
- Senior or within 12 months of graduation at the time of application.
- Pursuing studies related to agriculture, agribusiness, finance, accounting or cooperative management.
- Intention to work within an agricultural cooperative.
- Completion of an internship at an agricultural cooperative in the State of Texas.
Preferred, (but not required):
Experience with cooperative organizations (employment, leadership roles, etc.)
Community service in agriculture or rural development
